Annoubine Valley which harbors the most ancient Christian monasteries in the world is on the verge of being radiated from the World Heritage list because of serious plagues that are destroying it, such as violations in construction, deforestation, burning of waste, sewage flows, noise coming from restaurants and cars…
Since 1998, the UNESCO has included “the natural-cultural landscape of Qadisha Valley- the forest of the cedars of God” in the World Heritage list. However, the concerned Lebanese ministries have failed to implement the general plan for managing the site.
It has now become urgent to launch a petition and gather 50000 signatures in order to bring the local authorities and ministries to enforce the law and repress the violations that are committed there, and thus preserve the historical valley.

هل يمكن للوردة، أن تنسى عطرها، أو للقمر أن يحجبَ ضوءَه؟ وماذا يحصل للحقولِ،عندما يُمسِك عنهُ الغيمُ المطر؟ أو هل يعقَلُ أن تنسى الأم رضيعَها؟
كلٌّ من هذه لا يمكن حصولُه. فكيف يُعقَل للمؤمِنين بهذا الوطن- درةُ الشرقين، مهدُ الحضارة، همزةُ الوصلِ الثقافية والعلمية بين شرقِ الأرض وغربِها، كيف يُعقل أن يعبَثَ أبناؤه بأقدس مقدساتِه، بأحد أهم رموز الشهادة المسيحية الحق، ليس فقط للمسيحيين، إنما هو لكل لبنان. كيف يعقل أن يتلوثَ بمخلفات الإهمال الاجتماعي والثقافي والحضاري؟
فنحن، المؤمنين بهذا الرمز، نحن الذين في قلوبِنا يخفقُ نبض هذا الوادي المقدس، ناقلا إلينا عنفوان الإيمانِ الساري من دماء أجدادِنا إلى آبائنا فإلينا، نحن نرفض رفضا قاطعا هذا التدبير بحقه، طالبين ومطالبين من كل الجهات المعنية، الروحية والمدنية، بذل أقصى درجات الاستنفار البيئي في سبيل إعادة رونق وجمال هذا المكان- منبع القديسين، واتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة بحق مَن يجرؤون على العبث به، وتشويه حضارة لبنان. ونحن نصلي لكم، كي يأخذ الله والعذراء مريم بيدكم، أن يمدوكم بالعونِ والقوة، في سبيل إنقاذِه. وشكرا
